Route: Fes → Ifrane → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Benhaddou → Marrakech

Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
Depart from Fes in the morning towards the Middle Atlas. Stop in Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue through Azrou’s cedar forests, home to Barbary macaques. Drive along the Ziz Valley with its sweeping palm groves before reaching Merzouga. In the evening, ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a desert sunset. Dinner and overnight in a luxury Sahara camp under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Catch the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossils, then head to the dramatic Todra Gorges for a short walk between towering cliffs. Travel along the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley. Overnight in a traditional kasbah or riad.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou
Journey through the lush palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” Optional stop at the famous film studios. Explore Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage fortified ksar used in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Dinner and overnight near Ait Benhaddou or Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m). Enjoy panoramic landscapes and Berber villages en route. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon and transfer to your riad or hotel. End of tour.
